 Every day is a new challenge I learn that waste is good enough to bring things back to life in their full beauty.

WHAT I OFFER:

All the products are ONE - OFFs, meaning you will never see the same products made twice.

Prolong offers products with 100% transparency so you know exactly where each used garment/item comes from. All the materials are sourced locally from Scotland.

I try to design items that can be used in many ways to eliminate the clutter in your wardrobe.

I believe in the value of unwanted clothing that normally ends up at the landfill.

I strongly stand for human and animal rights as there is great value in all

lives. Compassion is the main connection between each other to create a

great deal of the sustainable world.

I’m hoping to get more people on the board, so this business can grow into a fully sustainable vision that will be able to create new types of jobs and opportunities for people living in the country. 

I am very open to collaborating with other businesses to create the "loop" with circular economy applied in its core. Meaning, that I am able to design and deliver upcycled products so we can create more sustainable businesses & jobs around the world.

I believe there is a power in unity rather than seeing each other as a competition.

I am open to custom work for customers too.

WHO STARTED PROLONG:

Prolong is created by Lucia Gasparidesova, originally from Slovakia but living in Aberdeen (Scotland) for over 11 years.

“I’ve started upcycling while I was working for a fashion retail shop. I was working on a collection of 3 outfits at a time and spending all my savings on brand new fabrics. I was getting paid a minimal wage and spending over £300.00 just on fabrics alone. I’ve started upcycling because it was an affordable option without realizing that it’s actually solving more problems that the fashion industry is responsible for like pollution of water from chemical dying, harmful CO2 emissions and damaging soil from chemical pesticides, exploitation... the list goes on.

 I started feeling a huge responsibility for every single item I made and was surprised that I've never been told about Fast Fashion at the College of Applied Arts, where I studied fashion design. Quite frankly, I do not even think that Fast Fashion was a thing in my teenage years. 

As I came across more sustainable messages of this process, I've realized that there is a much bigger importance of using this method than just the affordable option. Also, reusing what we have is definitely not just sustainable but also very original and offers something unique to every single person. "
