“Tajin” – photographic art

Photographic art 50cm x 75cm, printed on photographic paper and mounted on a thin acrylic plate, it’s ready to hang on the wall because it has two strong hatches on the back.

I took this photograph in 2015, at the archeological site of Tajin in Veracruz México. It is said that this is the first city in the New World to which European travellers arrived too, way before the conquistadores. Tajin is only 15km away from the town where my father was born, my family roots come from this area so I have a deep connection with this site it and with is enigmatic history. I took this shot from a hill high enough to catch sight of the most prominent pyramids of Tajin, what you see here is only a fraction of the size this city used to have during its years of splendour, as you can appreciate much of the pyramids have been engulfed by the jungle, manmade constructions and nature now coexists as one single body.
