INSPIRATION/CREATION

English Country Garden with a pinch of Rococo style…constructed from remnants of a variety of vintage fabrics.

The body and sleeves are of khaki-green stretch corduroy/velvet; the front pockets, back motif and military inspired collar are cut from hand-embroidered wool tapestries which I acquired as unfinished pieces and which were made to be used as a chair seat cover and back. The hem ruffle and interior facings are made from a piece of checked cashmere-wool. Trim/decoration details include upholstery braid and fine gold thread passementerie edging. Antique brass uniform buttons with ”crossed hammer” emblem means the wearer is an ”Artificer” (a skilled craftsman or inventor). Silver fringing along the back seam of the sleeves; a PEACE logo embroidered along one sleeve and a HEART applique on the other sleeve.
Fully lined for warmth and a comfortable feel.
