INSPIRATION/CREATION

Velvet Theatre Curtains with Silk Linings…

and the rustle of costumes in earlier Centuries.

The velvet is soft and embracing, while the lining of silk gives the characteristic rustle as you slide into it. The colours are also evocative of the Theatre/Opera and a making a grand entrance…midnight blue velvet with a behind the scenes interior of scarlet red silk.

This coat features pockets: exterior “muff pockets” trimmed with vintage french lace, and interior side pockets of silk. A full length double ended zipper gives flexibility, and drawstrings of silk which are made from a man’s tie give adjustment possibilities at the hem and the anorak style hood. Sleeves have stretchable cuffs so they can be pushed up for a casual attitude; and there is a “racing stripe” of silk (also from menswear tie) along the length of each sleeve with a “ski-jump” motif. The back of the coat features a vintage lace PEACE heart.
